The aim of this proposal is to suggest changes that will improve the integral wellbeing of workers. This can be translated into higher productivity achievements and better relationships among employees.
Current situation:
The current situation is that we have unhappy workers that are unable to work constructively with other employees. In consequence, we have tons of HR complains from bullying to sexist/misogynistic comments we are reaching a breaking point.
Suggestions or posible solutions:
As an employee I highly value three things: mental health, physical wellbeing and resting hours. So my three suggestions are for these three departments of wellbeing:
- Mental health: we can replicate the idea of our competitors of giving employees a monthly bonus that they can use for a service that increases their wellbeing. For example: a monthly therapy session, pilates class or an aromatherapy device. This can boost our workers wellbeing.
- Physical wellbeing and balanced diet: my suggestion is giving them spaces where they can exercise. As an example: make an agreement with the gym in the building and give two or three hours a week to workout without work related concern, along with a solid lunch policy and better quality food and snacks inside the corporate building.
- The quality resting hours: a policy that allows workers to effectively disconnect. For instance: If the working hours are nine to five, stop sending work related emails to workers after five. This way employees are able to relax at home, spend time with relatives and sleep early.
In conclusion if this suggestions are implemented the relationships amongst workers will improve. Happy workers are productive and efficient in the end this means more money.
